The River of Opportunity

by Walt Carvalho

When it comes to strength building, there is nothing like flexibility.

In ancient eastern philosophy, flexibility was thought of in relation to the flow of water. As the river flows and bends, it doesn’t fight the rock or the shore, it simply flows by adjusting to what exists at the time. The river is always adapting to its course. The cascading stream finds it’s way, not through resistance, but instead it advances forward through flexibility.

In physical terms, flexibility can promote good health. One of the benefits of yoga is to provide ease of movement, preventing the body restrictions that normally come with age. Mobility allows freedom that restriction eliminates.

Living experiences have the potential in promoting rigid responses. Problems are usually solved, however, with a calm mind and the ability to adjust. Obstacles can magnify in the world of resistance.

The ways of doing things in the past have new additional possibilities today.

In business the river was straight, smooth and easy. Today it has numerous turns with obstacles at every corner. We are provided with a test of flexibility and the ability to flow with creative, new and exciting ideas. Succeeding in challenging times like these requires the ability to take advantage of the ever-changing current.

It’s time to stretch muscles, lubricate joints, and learn to be flexible again.

It’s time to take advantage of the river of opportunities that lies ahead.

Get Creative. Get Social.
