Bringing Us Together

by Walt Carvalho

There are times when paths cross and memories are formed.

There are some people who have the ability to impact others through the interest they have in providing value. As we perceive this value we realize that it’s also one of the main ingredients in leadership. There are people who manage situations while others surface as leaders. While managers manage, leaders develop. What people often don’t realize is that mangers are easily hired and placed as the enforcers and regulators of some authoritive concept. Leaders on the other hand develop groups by actions perceived by those involved, causing an interest in involvement.

I had the pleasure recently in attending an event organized by Kiki Powers. This was the first time we had met. She took great care, when I first arrived, in making sure I felt welcome as she introduced me to others already there.

Kiki stood out immediately as the bonding agent required to bringing people together for a common cause. She has a great combination of intelligence, bright conversation and a very positive mindset. She has the qualities of a leader.

In conversation I discovered that Kiki not only enjoys bringing people together for special causes, she is also a national health speaker and writer as well. The impression I got from meeting Kiki is that her success is based on the value she provides for others.

Leadership has always provided great value.

Never has leadership had the potential it has today.

Today’s social media networks (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Craigslist, etc.) allow leaders to present value to so many more people in much less time and effort. Leaders like Kiki are finding they are able to accomplish much more as their following grows. The strategic placement of leadership digitally, has had astounding results in comparison to traditional methods.

Todays opportunities allow leaders to present value to so many more people in much less time and effort. Leaders like Kiki are finding they are able to accomplish much more as their following grows.

Get Creative. Get Social.
