Why Facebook Is Full of Color

by Matt Carvalho

If you happen to have logged into your facebook account any time in the last week or so, you would have noticed that your girlfriend, her best girlfriend, her best girlfriends mom, her best friends mom’s roommates sister from college, basically any female you know on facebook had a color attached to her status update. There was the color purple, light pink, beige, black, turquoise, polka dots, nude, just about every color in the spectrum lived next to some woman’s name in my news feed.

Why might any male ask, does this mean anything to me?

The surface answer is it means absolutely nothing!

Most men saw that these woman had a color next to their name and thought that was just a woman being a woman, and the truth is that the men who thought that were absolutely correct!

Women were just being women, and the best part about it is that they didn’t need men to understand it at all!

This was created by women for women!

Being that I am the inquiring type, I decided to figure why these mysterious colors were suddenly everywhere I look on facebook?

As per usual, I began to “search” the internet to find where this bombardment of color was coming from? I looked deeper than it would normally take me to uncover information on the world wide web, but none the less I found the source.  The color was a secret society for woman to disclose their bra color! This was a pretty creative execution to raise public awareness for breast cancer I might add.

The moral of the story I guess, is that colors do not make facebook powerful, but rather people who believe in belonging to a group of like-minded individuals and love sharing with others for a greater good makes facebook powerfull.
