Read All About It

Twitter has become more relevant in the transmission of news. Every event seems to explode now, as tweets can easily appear in the thousands per minute range.

While searching relevant topics on twitter, at almost the moment an event occurs, you can find images and video links, as they happen. These images and videos are then passed virally throughout the Internet. They are later possibly seen on the news a few hours later, the newspaper the next day or magazines next week or even next month.

A platform like twitter has no need for film crews or news people. It doesn’t require waiting for the news van to arrive. It is instant. People are now equipped to deliver on the spot coverage.

Censorship has always been an issue in fact finding. Many countries have been able to control what is seen and heard by its populace. It also controlled what the world heard and saw. The days of government control of information are over.

Many companies have positioned themselves with good strategies, creating an array of platforms designed to correct any misinformation that may appear online. They have the ability to provide their voice to correct any misunderstandings or rumors as they happen.

Whatever the news story, twitter seems to be the leader in instant coverage. People from all over the world are filming, writing and posting, as stories first develop, and we have access to them all

News agencies are not the only on the scene reporters any more. Instead they are using information which has been already filmed and posted, from citizens, who were there when it happened.
